In a rare moment of dissatisfaction for his close friend, Travis Kelce showed obvious frustration with Patrick Mahomes after a missed throw and a catch against the Carolina Panthers.
The Kansas City Chiefs were in for a much-tougher battle than expected with the Panthers, who had one of the league’s worst records entering the matchup.
On a usual route where Kelce stopped about 10 yards downfield, Mahomes throw to his open tight was a little off target, but not an impossible catch.
The ball hits Kelce in the hands, but he could not hold onto it to complete the catch.
As soon as the ball hits the turf, Kelce turns around and looks at Mahomes in frustration, throwing his arms out about the trajectory of the pass.
Kelce continued to be frustrated as he got closer to the huddle, yelling an expletive on camera about the situation.
Kelce and Mahomes ended up getting on their same, usual page, as the tight end finished the 30-27 win over the Panthers with the most receptions on the Chiefs, 6.
Mahomes threw 27 completions on 37 passes for 269 yards and three touchdowns.
Without Taylor Swift in attendance for a second straight week, the Chiefs were able to get back in the win column and maintained the NFL’s best record at 10-1.
Kelce finished the game with 62 yards, trailing only former tight end Noah Gray, who had 66 yards and two touchdowns on the day.
The Chiefs secured the victory after a 33-yard Mahomes run and a Spencer Shrader field goal as time expired.
