Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum sent President-elect Donald Trump a fiery letter in response to his tariff threats where she warned Mexico would retaliate with its own tariffs but signaled she would like the two countries to work together.
The letter dated November 26 was sent one day after Trump threatened in a social media post to sign an executive order on his first day in office to impose 25 percent tariffs on all products from Mexico.
The president-elect claimed the tariffs would remain in place until Mexico took steps to stop illegal border crossings and drugs such as fentanyl from entering the U.S.
But Sheinbaum called Trump out in a blistering response as she outlined a series of steps Mexico is taking and touted U.S. data to emphasize the claim Trump used to make his tariff threat was wrong.

The Vice President slurred her words and her eyes were half shut and appeared glazed over, at times during the video.
There is no evidence that Harris was under the influence.
Users on X edited or used AI to manipulate the video of Harris holding or sitting next to a bottle of alcohol – and one shows her smoking a cigar.
Harris has not emerged much publicly since her defeat on November 5, and when she did for a nearly 10-minute message on Tuesday to her supporters critics excoriated her for ‘bragging’ about wasting her donors’ money.
Multiple social media users called the vice president a ‘drunk aunt at Thanksgiving.’
‘Thanksgiving dinner with ‘Drunk Aunty Kamala’ is going to be a downer,’ one social media account noted.
The video was released two days before Thanksgiving as Harris holed up in California’s Bay Area for the holiday.

Kamala Harris is roasted for crowing how her presidential campaign raised $1.4billion – before blowing it
Kamala Harris has been roasted for crowing how her presidential campaign raised more than $1.4billion through grass roots funds after splashing it on celebrity appearances and an ad on the Las Vegas sphere.
The Vice President boasted in a video message to her supporters that her campaign received a ‘historic $1.4billion, almost $1.5billion’ from grass roots supporters, which Harris said was ‘the most in presidential campaign history’.

Biden announces U.S. will join another round of ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas
By Katelyn Caralle, Senior U.S. Political Reporter
President Joe Biden announced Wednesday morning that the U.S. is joining Middle Eastern countries to again work towards a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas terrorists.
It comes just hours after Israel and Lebanon agreed to a ceasefire, ending 14 months of fighting between the Jewish State and the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah.
‘Over the coming days, the United States will make another push with Turkey, Egypt, Qatar, Israel, and others to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza with the hostages released and an end to the war without Hamas in power,’ Biden wrote on X the day before Thanksgiving.
The conflict between Israel and Hamas terrorists operating out of Palestinian enclave of Gaza has gone on for more than a year despite repeated efforts from world allies to achieve an end to the war.
The Biden administration hopes the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel paves the way for a bigger deal before Donald Trump takes office in January.
One senior official told Politico: ‘No one has any idea what will happen after January 20, so I think the time is right. The combination of Biden leaving, Trump coming and the Lebanon peace agreement — this is a golden opportunity and we should not let it slip by.’

Just days before his nomination as HHS secretary, RFK Jr. said he would act quickly to fire 600 people at the NIH and replace them all with new hires.
The agency employs nearly 20,000 people.
Trump has now appointed Jay Bhattacharya, a Stanford health policy professor and doctor, as director of the NIH.
He was an outspoken critic of the U.S. government’s Covid policies during the pandemic.
I’m so grateful to President Trump for this spectacular appointment. Dr. Jay Bhattacharya is the ideal leader to restore NIH as the international template for gold-standard science and evidence-based medicine.
