Trump-Vance Campaign and the RNC File More GA Lawsuits Over Illegal Election Activity

As RedState reported, the Republican National Committee filed a lawsuit against the Georgia counties of Fulton, Gwinnett, DeKalb, and Cobb for opening their election offices to receive ballots after the close of early voting, contrary to Georgia election law. These counties were also barring GOP poll watchers from entering the premises. By Saturday, a judge had ruled on the allowance of the poll watchers, but the issue of the ballots collected by these offices over the weekend was still pending.

On Sunday, the Trump-Vance campaign, the Republican National Committee, and the Georgia Republican Party filed additional state and federal lawsuits for injunctive relief against Fulton, DeKalb, Cobb, Gwinnett, Athens-Clarke, Clayton, and Chatham Counties. The filing cited violations of state election law that result in disparate treatment of Georgia voters

The Trump-Vance Campaign, RNC, and Georgia GOP have filed lawsuits in state and federal court challenging several Georgia counties that are illegally remaining open over the weekend to receive absentee ballots after early voting ended.

Early voting was required to end statewide on Friday, November 1. At the last minute several heavily Democrat counties announced they would open their offices over the weekend to receive mail ballots. This is illegal, so we immediately filed a state court lawsuit. In a win for election integrity, the counties retreated from plans to keep drop boxes open over the weekend, but we continue to fight the illegal re-opening of the centers in state and federal court.

This is a clear, partisan violation of the law intended to boost Democrat efforts in Georgia. With just two days until our country’s most important election, it is critical for officials to follow the law and run the election in a fair and transparent manner.

These actions by some Georgia counties do nothing but undermine the security of our elections and drive up mistrust in the process. Georgia must take immediate action to protect the vote.

Former President and GOP nominee Donald Trump made a final push in Georgia on Sunday night with a rally in Macon with surrogates Bruce Levell, Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. Trump had as his guest Carmen Ramirez, mother of Mimi Ramirez-Rodriguez, a social media influencer who was kidnapped and murdered by an illegal alien.

Georgia rarely has provisional ballots, so when polls close at 7:00 p.m. on November 5, if the ballots from election day voting, early voting, and absentee ballots reflect a margin of more than 5,000 votes, the race is generally called.

Georgia is considered a toss-up, and its 16 electoral votes are critical for a presidential win.
