2024 is drawing to a close, as is President Joe Biden’s time in public office, which will conclude on January 20, 2025, with the swearing-in of former POTUS Donald Trump as the 47th president of the United States.

Already, Biden’s political legacy is being hotly debated, with Democrats of course spinning his decades in government as a “distinguished career” in so many words.
Republicans, meanwhile, have not been shy about pointing to a few inconvenient facts about Biden’s time in Congress and then the White House, with his disgraceful treatment of Judges Robert Bork and Clarence Thomas from the late 1980s and early 1990s during their respective Supreme Court confirmation hearings coming to mind.

Among them has been GOP strategist/CNN commentator Scott Jennings, who on the Thursday edition of “NewsNight” blasted Biden over his admitted regrets, which did not include the deadly 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal debacle, which resulted in the death of 13 U.S. service members.
On Sunday, Jennings made clear that he was not done assessing Biden’s legacy, pointing again to Afghanistan and the Hunter Biden pardoning but also focusing more on the White House cover-up surrounding Joe Biden’s mental acuity:
“I think he’s going to leave office in disgrace.”
“The Hunter Biden pardon was disgraceful. He’s going to be remembered largely for inflation and for the disastrous Afghanistan pullout. And I think as we continue to we’re just getting the first draft of this now.”
“But as we continue to learn about the massive cover up that went on, not about his health, but about his mental acuity to cover that up, the efforts, that were undertaken by the White House staff, by his family, not in the last couple of months, but for all four years. I think it’s going to be a really ugly chapter.”
“I think we still don’t know the full extent of what they did to try to hide what they’ve been doing over in the West Wing.”

Kamala Harris apologist Bakari Sellers’ only response was to suggest it was Trump who left “in disgrace” thanks to the events of January 6th, 2021 (where he called on supporters to “peacefully and patriotically” protest, which Sellers didn’t mention) and also the two impeachments (which he left out were politically motivated hit jobs by Democrats who could not accept that he defeated Hillary Clinton in 2016).

Jennings makes an important point. I think that what we’re likely to learn about the cover-up of Biden’s mental acuity issues in the coming months is going to be staggering, with information that possibly could include just how far up the chain of command the deliberate deception went.
We already know via a belated admission from NBC News journo Chuck Todd in the aftermath of Biden’s disastrous June 2024 debate performance that a “senior cabinet secretary” talked to him as early as 2022 about his concerns over Biden’s state of mind. Todd also confessed that this was a “classic open secret, nonversation that… everybody knows and everybody was afraid to talk about”:
“I’m not gonna out the cabinet secretary. But I had a cabinet secretary two years ago, okay- two years ago, out of the blue asked me, ‘You really think he’s gonna– he can’t run again like this?’ And I said ‘Well, you have more interaction with him than I do,’ and they said, ‘I don’t have a lot of interaction with him.’ This is a pretty senior cabinet secretary. So, and this was two years ago. This is one of those, you know, it’s the classic open secret, nonversation, right? It’s the story everybody knows and everybody was afraid to talk about.”

Anyone in Biden’s immediate orbit who knew about this but looked the other way and who also aspires to higher office should not be given the chance, and that includes Vice President Kamala Harris. It’s a scandal of epic proportions and one that its gatekeepers should not escape political responsibility over.
