In this episode of “Get a Grip!”…
So here’s the thing. I decided to stop writing about every Democrat meltdown I saw following President-elect Donald Trump’s crushing win over Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday. But telling Democrats to shun their Trump-supporting family members during the holidays is truly appalling. So I made an exception.

MSNBC’s race-obsessed host Joy Reid on Friday night’s episode of “The ReidOut” did exactly the above, and as unconscionable as her admonition was, Reid’s delusional reasoning couldn’t have been more hypocritical and full of blind hatred.
Unsurprisingly, Reid’s guest, Yale psychiatrist and “mental health expert” Dr. Amanda Calhoun, couldn’t have agreed more fervently.
Here’s Reid (emphasis, mine):
The challenge is the idea of how do you interact with people who you know [inaudible], right? If you are an [inaudible] person and you know somebody in your family voted … essentially against your rights as a woman … this man was calling people the B-word … JD Vance was literally calling Kamala Harris the trash — that we’re take out the trash — I was totally triggered by that.
So if you meet somebody and you know that they voted for the people that called you trash, or if you’re Puerto Rican and you know someone voted that way, do you recommend — from a psychological standpoint — being around them? We’ve got the holidays coming up.
I’ ‘ll respond to Reid’s trash after the video below.
Here’s Calhoun’s unbelievable — yet not — response.
So I loved that you asked this question, because, you know, there is a push — I think there’s a societal norm that if somebody is your family that they are entitled to your time. And I think the answer is absolutely not.
So if you’re going through a situation where you have family members; where you have close friends you know have voted in ways that are against you … against your livelihood … it’s completely fine to not be around those people, and to tell them why.
You say ‘I have a problem with the way you way you voted, because it went against my very livelihood and I’m not going to be around you this holiday. I need to take some space to heal.’

Where does one begin to dissect this abject insanity and selfishness?
Yale psychiatrist Amanda Calhoun, a medical doctor and mental health expert, advises MSNBC viewers to break off ties with family members who voted for Trump and refuse to see them on the holidays

Let’s Start With Joy Reid
Joy Reid is as racist and TDS-deranged as they come. In her arrogance — which in part consists of never being wrong, complete lack of self-awareness, and blind selfishness — she regularly espouses division, but suggesting the Democrats break ties with loved ones during the holiday season, is abominable, which in Reid’s case, means “normal.”

And the Yale Psychiatrist?
I was only surprised — and not all that much — by this “mental health expert” amplifying the insanity in public. We’re talking about family members shunning other family members who don’t agree with their beliefs, and vote according to how they vote.
The Bottom Line
Suggesting that it’s perfectly OK for political differences to trump love of family is nuts. Including psychologically. If conservatives did the same, would that be OK? Would it be OK for half the country to cut ties with family members over their political views, and the other half to cut ties with them over theirs?

It’s been suggested by some that liberalism is a mental disease. If it isn’t, it couldn’t be closer.
