Fans have been left in shock by Post Malone‘s ‘awful’ performance at the 2024 Country Music Association Awards on Wednesday.
While many of the country stars wowed the audience at the Music City Center in Nashville that night, Post was savaged on social media.
The 29-year-old took the stage that evening to perform the award show’s opening number California Sober with Chris Stapleton.
He then delivered a solo rendition of his ballad Yours, dedicated to his daughter, whom he welcomed with his fiancée in May 2022.
Many viewers were appalled by the quality of his voice, and quickly shared their unfiltered reactions on X, formerly Twitter.
‘The dogs in my neighborhood just stopped howling after that god awful performance by @postmalone,’ joked one.
‘Post Malone’s daughter is going to get emancipated and then elope after hearing her father’s awful performance on the #CMAawards,’ wrote another.
‘This Post Malone song is… awful,’ wrote another. ‘Know your range man. You’re a party song guy. You can’t sing good enough for slow, sad songs.’
‘Post Malone sounds terrible lmao,’ giggled one X user as another said: ‘I love Post Malone but he needs to stick with pop or whatever it was he was singing before’.
‘That performance was awful. Can we stop inviting him to ruin the awards shows? He butchered a Joe Diffie song last year. It’s enough,’ opined one viewer.
‘Listening to Post Malone was torture! #bad #realbad is it just me? Off key and just terrible as a whole,’ exclaimed another observer.

The 2024 CMA Awards were hosted by country stars Lainey Wilson and Luke Bryan, accompanied by football legend Peyton Manning.
A formidable array of performers was assembled, including Chris Stapleton, Post Malone, Kelsea Ballerini, Jelly Roll, Keith Urban Kacey Musgraves and Shaboozey.
