When Even Al Gore Appears to Be Mocking Kamala’s ‘Middle Class Kid’ Response, She Might Have a Problem

Kamala Harris’ campaign has quickly become something of a joke because of her failure to give clear answers about what she would do if she won the presidency.

Instead she fills in her responses to questions with nonsensical word salads, meant to evoke feelings but not actually saying much of anything. Her go-to answer for why you should vote for her seems to be her claim that she “grew up a middle class kid.”

That’s not a policy. That’s not an answer to solve a lot of the problems that she helped to create. It’s basically a rip-off of Joe Biden who was fond of saying that. And she grew up the daughter of a cancer researcher scientist and a college professor, so not exactly the norm of a “middle class kid.”

People aren’t buying this line and she’s getting mocked for the ridiculous, empty effort.

Even Jake Tapper had a problem with this and grilled Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on it.

But she wasn’t able to offer anything sensible, talking about “connections.” I don’t want a connection, I want government policy that doesn’t crush people.

But perhaps one of the funniest takes so far actually came from Democrat Al Gore. When even Al Gore appears to be mocking Kamala Harris, you know maybe this line of argument for her isn’t working. Listen to the laughter of the audience.

“I want to point out that Kamala Harris grew up in a middle class family,” he said dryly. Immediately, even the Axios audience got it, assumed he was mocking her, and thought it was funny. That’s how overwrought the claim is, it’s just a joke now.

That shows people know she’s not giving any real answers, when it’s seeped into mockery on this level.

Being a leader isn’t about saying meaningless things or vibes. It also isn’t about promising handouts to get elected. It’s about specifics and results. Not only isn’t she offering that, her record has been the opposite, it’s been full of bad results, with a poor understanding of policy, particularly on inflation and the border.

She can say she was a “middle class kid” until the cows come home, but that isn’t a reason vote for her when she has such a demonstrably bad record.
