WINNING: Illegal Immigrant Takes Sweet Plea Deal and Walks – Only To Be Scooped Up by ICE

Are you tired of winning yet? I’m not.

In Queens, an illegal alien from Ecuador, who stood accused of rape, bargained a sweetheart deal with prosecutors in which his rape charges were negotiated down to a misdemeanor, involving a class and no jail time. He walked out of the courthouse – but was promptly scooped up by federal officers for repatriation back to Ecuador, where he belongs. This is how you do it.

Kail Cardenas, 27, was picked up by federal agents in Jamaica, Queens, Monday morning, less than a month after he was freed in the horrifying 2023 rape and sex abuse case, The Post has learned.

“DEANewYork continues, along with our @justicedept & other federal law enforcement partners, to assist @dhsgov with their immigration enforcement efforts targeting violent illegal criminals,” the New York division of the federal drug-busting agency said in a post on X.

The X post says in full:

The illegal alien in question came to the United States on a visitor visa, but stayed in the U.S. after his visa expired.

According to federal immigration sources, Cardenas arrived in the US from Ecuador on a visitor visa in September 2016, but remained in the country after his legal status expired in July 2021.

The illegal migrant was accused of molesting a woman who passed out at an apartment party in Jamaica on Jan. 29, 2023. The victim told authorities she woke up as Cardenas was raping her, according to the criminal complaint in the case.

Here are the details of that sweet plea deal:

Cardenas was arrested and charged with first-degree rape and first-degree sexual assault. He could have faced between five and 25 years behind bars if convicted of the top charge.

But Cardenas was allowed to plead guilty to a lesser third-degree rape charge as part of a deal that required him to complete one year of sex offender counseling — and would serve no jail time if he passed.

Instead, he’s headed back to Ecuador.

Last week, my colleague Teri Christoph brought us a similar tale of an illegal immigrant who savagely beat his pregnant wife to death – and while on parole, got scooped up by Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) for repatriation.

This is what winning looks like. In the previous administration, these goblins would have simply been allowed to walk free. But, as we here at RedState keep pointing out, there’s a new sheriff in town, and he likes sending people back where they belong – as in, not in the United States. The left is complaining, of course – and it’s not generally going well for them.

This is how we keep winning, folks. No more saddle soap; illegal aliens who commit crimes are being jailed, and when they get out, whether that release be due to a sweet plea deal or parole, then they go back to where they belong. No argument, no questions, no appeals, no nothing, no kidding. They are in the country illegally; they are bad people, so we send them back.

That’s how it was supposed to work all along. And that’s how, finally, it’s working now.
